Have you asked for a discount on a Hospital bill?
I saw an article on yahoo.com about asking for a 25% discount on your hospital bill if you agree to pay it in full. Has anyone ever been successful with this?

Not from a patient perspective but I have given discounts on the billing side.
Call and speak to them, you may need to get a supervisor or manager on the phone though. Specifically ask for a prompt pay discount.
And, get it IN WRITING. Wrong person processes the payment and the balance could be sold to a collection agency and wreak havoc on you.

Most hospitals have programs if you cant afford th ebills too. I owed a huge deductible and copays for hospital visits for my daughter and the twins birth, and I sent in paperwork showing our income and the family size etc and I ended up owing like $40 on a $1500 bill.

I had a ER trip once when we did not have insurance. The more than $2K bill was reduced to $45 when I called and told them we were uninsured and verbally told them what our weekly income was.

YES!! just call!
I get hit crazy with bills!!
I ask for an automatic 20% off if I pay it all then, they always say yes. Then I just transfer bal to a 0% cc.

Yes, it's worth asking about!
Even if you don't pay it at once, I agreed to a payment schedule and they reduced the amount.
