How do you decide what to buy??
I just started glancing at BRU, and the potential choices look endless. How did you decide which "big ticket" items (furniture, stroller, carseat, mattress, etc.) to buy/register for?

I used the Baby Bargains Book and also did a lot of online research...mixed with going to the store and testing out the ones I liked.
Good Luck!

Primarily by using the Baby Bargains book, recommendations from mommy friends, and then going to the store to narrow it down after that.

Re: How do you decide what to buy??
I just started looking into the items that I want to register for. I browsed through the items to see which patterns/colors that I liked, then I did some online research and read lots of product reviews. I definitely started a little backwards (lol) but I fell in love with the Graco Birkshire pattern from BRU and thankfully, all of the reviews have been excellent!!

Re: How do you decide what to buy??
I used the baby bargain book too. I also talked to a friend who had a baby before me-that's what I would do if I were you. They can give you the real life experience. I never would have registered for a snap n go were it not for my very good friend!

Re: How do you decide what to buy??
Baby bargains a little. But mainly I would go on BRU website and search for the item- ex: carseat. Then sort by highest rated. I would read all the user reviews and that REALLY helped me decide.

I just went and picked out what I liked. When I got home I asked on here and some friends with kids and I made good choices so I stuck with them!

Re: How do you decide what to buy??
Asked other mommies Asked here Got online info Finally went in and saw it myself.
A lot of what I thought would be perfect just wouldn't work for me, personally (ie dressers and crib) other stuff that people hated (like my glider) were just what *I* needed.
Also what you can use is important. I passed on a lot of things that others say are 'must haves' but I never missed them one bit. I held off on buying stuff until she got here and I got a feel for what we needed.
But I must say... SEEING it and playing with it.. be it the crib, car seat, stroller or even blankets made all the difference in the world.

Re: How do you decide what to buy??
I used the Baby Bargains book. The green one is the most recent. I also read a lot of reviews on Amazon and BRU. I registered for consumer Reports Online to get the most up-to-date ratings on things (do not use their baby guide as it is outdated!)

Asked friends/family for recommendations, did a lot of online research, read tons of reviews, went to to the store to look at everything in person, etc. It was a lot of work!

Re: How do you decide what to buy??
We used Baby Bargains as a guide for a lot of the big ticket stuff. It was overwhelming, but focus on one category at a time helped me...
