2 crib/bassinet questions

1 - I have a mattress pad, regular crib sheet and then the ultimate crib sheet that goes over the regular crib sheet. Is this overkill? Too many layers under baby? I'm doing wash and trying to decide if I should keep it all.

2 - My crib is still not here (damn Behrs). I'm hearing mixed things about whether the Pack n Play is good enough to have him in if he arrives before the crib does. We have the Graco Pack n Play with Newborn Napper. We do not have a bassinet. What do you guys think? I am so torn over this. I know the newborn napper is meant for naps but if they only sleep 3 hours at a time the first few weeks then isn't that the same thing? Help!!!?!?

I have many layers on my crib, and have had since DS was a baby. Just be sure that all of the layers are laying flat so that there is no "bubbles" or "ridges" in the top sheet for DC to get caught in.

As for the basinette, I only used it in the daytime, and I night I used the co-sleeper (the one that attaches to the outside of my bed, not the nest that goes inbetween the pillows). I nursed and found it invaluable to get DS 1 & 2 on a regular sleep schedule, as I was able to dream feed them. I see nothing wrong with even using the PNP; I would defintely use a sheet though.

my crib is set up sheet, mattress bad, sheet, mattress pad, sheet

easier to pull off in the muddle of the night then put anything on

i did not order a crib till my sonwas born. He used the napper for about 2 weeks, than the bassinet part on the pack and play for 3 months - he had no problems sleeping there

i did not ralize they make mattress pads and crib mattress for the pack and play - they are for the mini cribs
