I truly believe that Cablevision is doing the right thing.
Fight those greedy corporations. There is no need for ABC to charge Cablevision $40 million dollars a year when they are a free channel over publicly-funded airwaves. The network channels belong to the public and Cablevision is just a provider of that service.

You can't get signals over the air anymore, broadcast TV went digital a few months ago. Some TVs have a built in digital tuner and can receive the channels, if your TV does not than you need to purchase a converter box.

Couldn't agree more! ABC is absolutely and completely in the wrong here.
I think they are both wrong and ridiculous.
I watch a few ABC shows. I can watch them on HULU if I really want to see them. I'm not going to cry over losing them. I mean.. it's TELEVISION for criminy's sake. Both ABC and Cablevision make billions of dollars and are greedy for more. If Cablevision caves to their demands it comes out of our pockets eventually. If they don't - we don't get the network.
And thinking it can't happen to Fios is silly. It's all about the $$ for all companies.

I agree with you that it could happen to Fios but I was with cablevision for 13 yrs. and had sooo many increases once or twice a year and lost more and more channels.

Not that we're getting on
your tv must have a tuner built in..or you get an external tuner. Most of the connection are on a co-ax cable.
must people have a tuner built into a dvd/vcr recorder also...
