Really Small Baby's Room

Anyone have a really small nursery?

The room we are going to use is literally 8'x10'. We are just nervous about a crib taking up literally half the room. And then there is barely enough room for any other piece of furniture.

If you have a small room what are you doing about furniture? Just looking for some ideas. TIA!

I'm not sure how big my DD's room is but it's pretty small. We have a crib on one wall, a small dresser with changing pad on top on 2nd wall, and a glider. Now that we are having DD#2 and they will be sharing a room, we took out the glider and put a toddler bed on that wall. We bought a dresser for DD#1 and put it in our room since there isn't room for 2 in there.

Ikea has great ways to furnish small spaces. They even have changing table that attaches to the wall that folds down for use and fold back up when you are done. They also have smaller sized cribs.

DS room is super tiny. I have a reg crib (the sleigh ones r too big) and a tall dresser. I uses the closet to build in a changing table and shelves for extra storage. I will put in a glider but thats it! Also- look into portable cribs. They are tiny and some convert into a twin bed

our nursery is 10x10...we have a crib, full size dresser with hutch, upholdstered glider (but nursing stool not an ottoman), and a dollhouse style bookcase. there is enough room and isn't squished. i wouldn't put more furniture in there though. when it is made into a full sized bed the glider will be out of there.

Korin, did you see Gavin's nursery? Not sure the size, but it's a pretty small room.
I thought I would be able to fit the chair and ottoman in there, boy was I crazy! I ended up putting it in the spare bedroom and now it's in our bedroom.

We also didn't get a separate changing table, but used the low dresser and put a changing pad on that which saves a bunch of space.

It was tough but we made everything fit! We have the crib which is pretty big, the high dresser and the low long one, lots of storage space!

If it helps, oval cribs are much smaller though they tend to be . Also, you really don't need a changing table - I got a quilted waterproof pad at BBB and usually do it on my bed. You can also use the top of a low dresser.

Our room is 10x10 and we will have:

Crib
Long dresser
small armoire
glider

Our room is small too and what does not help is the fact that one wall is taken up by a window with not much room on either side and another wall is the closet and then the door opens onto that wall. So we have 2 walls that are usable.

We are getting a crib, a dresser (which will be a changer too) and a narrow/tall chest of drawers that will fit next to the window on that wall.

For the record, the dresser and chest of drawers are not even baby furniture- we found them at home decorators.com
They are white and will match and to be honest the sizes are a lot smaller than the pieces that came with our set.
So we are just getting the crib from Babies R Us and the other 2 pieces from Home Decorators.
Luckily with white furniture we have that flexibility.

our nursery is really small...not sure of dimensions. we have a sleigh crib, wide dresser (that we use as a changing table) and glider. It works perfect for us.

My kid's room is probably the same size as your kids room!
Definitely planning to do what Gina did and have a low dresser function as changing table to save space!
My husband wants a glider.. I'm like where do you think we're putting that!? In the hallway?!

I stressed out about it but once the furniture was in- I was suprised and happy on how well it fit. Try not to get bulky looking furniture though.

Ours is really small- I think 9x9. We got a combo dresser/changing table to save space. It's from the Davinci Emily collection, as is our crib. We also have a glider and ottoman, Diaper Genie, and hamper, and we are going to add a small bookcase. When we first set it all up, I didn't love the position of the glider and ottoman, but there was really nowhere else it would work, so I figured we'd try it out for a bit, and I totally got used to it lol. Our nursery is really small. I think 8x8. I have pictures in my album. We fit the crib, changing table, a small bookshelf and the glider. There's not much floor space but it worked fine for DS #1. We just played in other rooms and kept the nursery for sleeping and diaper changes. We now moved him to a bigger room and DS #2 will be in the nursery in a few weeks.

Our room is 10X10...we just cleared out some boxes in there and it is not really that small surprisingly. We did take into consideration crib size however, and ordered one that was on the smaller side. The sizes of cribs varied a decent amount so take a look at the measurements before you buy one! You should be fine though, good luck!

Our nursery is probably a little bigger. It has a decent closet. So we are just using DD's crib and dresser. I'm putting the glider in my room....that's where the TV is.

DD's room in my old apartment was pretty small and that setup fit in there just fine. The dresser is a short dresser. I think I have pics in my albums if you want to check it out.

Our room is 9x9 and doesn't have a closet. Check my album and you'll see how we arranged it. It's tight, but very functional. When she gets bigger she'll go into our guest room, but we like that the nursery is small.
