5 weeks old....how many ounces??
How many ounces should I be giving my 5 week old per feeding?? I've been doing 4, but she is still extremely fussy sometimes even after her whole bottle, so I make another 2 ounces and she sometimes takes all that! Is that too much? Is it possible to OVER feed? She only does this maybe for 2-3 feedings per day.
But then she is also having some major BMs! Like 7-8 BMs per day. DH thinks it could be the formula.
Motherhood is confusing...

you cannot overfeed a baby...my dd was only taking 4 ounces at that time but my Ds was taking 8 ozs at that age

Ita, feed dc. My ds was beast like flatbreads. He chowed. Worst thing thst could happen is they spit up.

every three hours during the day. at night she sleeps for 5-6 hour stretches.

my son is 5 weeks...taking between 4 and 5 1/2 oz every 3-4 hours...sometimes its a lil less.
what formula s she on? my son was having 10-12 bms a day and not gaining weight...he was on nutramigen, but still had the blood so they switched him to elecare....now he poops 1-2x a day

DD is 3 weeks and taking 5-6 ounces every feeding (og BM--I'm pumping) sometimes she can take more than that. Feeding every 3 hours. I asked the ped yesterday about over feeding and he said not to worry about it and that it can;t happen. As long as she isn't spitting most of it back up she is fine and to give her what she wants.
This AM she took 7 before she stopped fussing!

it seems like 5 ounces or so satisfies her. sometimes she doesnt even take 4 ozs though.
she is on similac sensitive. plus i'm pumping so she gets 2 bottles of pumped BM per day (if i'm lucky...i get so little when i pump).
im actually going to call the ped this morning about her having so many poo diapers...she now has a bad diaper rash with a blister on top of it all...

thats helpful, because she does spit up but only occasionally, but i figure a little spit up is pretty normal

do you see any visible blood in her poop? even if not, it can still be in there...if it were me, I would demand that they check her dirty diaper for blood....all three of my boys had milk allergies...#2 and 3 had it where they needed a hypoallergenic formula....it took 3 months for ds#1 to get on the right formula....1 1/2 months for ds#2, and 10 days for ds #3...it was all because I was knowledgable from the others, and that I pushed for what I wanted.
