 | Re: Another weird question from my real estate agent??? Posted by MrsKL
We are now in contract for the home - we accepted the seller's counteroffer and have a proposed closing date of 1/31.

Today, my real estate agent (not the seller's agent) asked me for my lender's name and phone number... Is this odd? Why would she need that info? And why would she ask NOW when our closing is over 30 days away?

IMO there isn't anything all that strange about it.

 | Re: Another weird question from my real estate agent??? I don't think it's odd either. Although I did (and still do) think the first request was odd, this doesn't seem to be to me. They're going to ultimately have to know this information, I don't see why they shouldn't know now. Esp with such a quick closing date. |

 | Re: Another weird question from my real estate agent??? yep, it's actually a pretty normal question. Did you get pre-approved or pre-qualified? Your agent is not asking for your mortgage commitment, he/she just wants to know where you are planning to borrow from. |

OH ok... Well, after her beginning antics I'm leary of everything she asks for now. I told the mortgage broker (DH's dad, actually) and he said that how could he have our lender's name yet when she hasn't even sent him our contract yet - I mean, it's been TWO DAYS. lol

Anyway, I gave her HIS name/number and told her to send the contract to him and that then he could start shopping for our loan. That satisfied her.

true... but she needs to understand that this is her JOB and pressuring me every single day is not going to make it any easier!
