 | should I have some coffee/tea? I usually get tired as the day wears on, but today I feel like I woke up completely exhausted. I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open and I work at my dance studio from 1:30-8:30pm today. I feel like all I want to do is sleep, but I know that's not an option. I'm not normally a coffee drinker, even when I'm not pregnant, but I really feel like I need an extra kick today. Should I go ahead and have a cup of coffee, or would that be bad? I really feel like I'm not going to make it through the day without something. | | Posted 3/9/06 11:25 AM |

 | Re: should I have some coffee/tea? i wouldn't I would actually do some deep breathing to get more oxygen flowing to your brain. I was ready to fall asleep on my desk this morning, but I just taught two periods of chorus and made sure to sing and warm-up with the kids and I feel so much more awake. | | Posted 3/9/06 11:27 AM |

 | Re: should I have some coffee/tea? At your point in your pregnancy, I don't think caffinine is going to help at all. I remember having days like that where I could have fallen asleep at my desk if I dared to close my eyes. | | Posted 3/9/06 11:28 AM |

 | Re: should I have some coffee/tea? I'm just concerned because I have to be on my feet for 7 hours straight dancing, and I just don't know if I'm going to make it. | | Posted 3/9/06 11:38 AM |

 | Re: should I have some coffee/tea? First try eating something with protein and a complex carb. The slow release of energy from foods high in those nutrients should help keep you going for that long stretch.
And then, a little later, if you still feel like you need the extra kick, sure, go right ahead and treat yourself to nice cup of coffee!

 | Re: should I have some coffee/tea? I would also try taking a walk outside. The air is pretty brisk- that may help you. I never found that caffeine really perked me up pre-pregnancy anyway. Message edited 3/9/2006 11:58:11 AM. | | Posted 3/9/06 11:58 AM |
