You cant really tell till they are about 2 or 3. They should be using both hands before that although they might have an early preference before they are a year old. My older son seemed to favor his left hand when he was small. DH & I are both right handed so I was surprised. But once he started using the pencil to write letters and things that involved precision, it was clear that he was a righty.

Probably not until he was 1.5-2 yrs old. Well, at least with Caiden we could tell. My DH and I and Caiden are all lefties!

About 2 years old. It was hard to tell w. Joseph until the doctor said he was a true ambidexterous. Maddie is defniitely right handed, mainly because her left thumb is always in her mouth & she needs a free hand to do stuff.
