Re: POLL: HELP! Does the image of green holly with red berries signify XMAS?
I don't think it's religious....holly bushes grow everywhere.

IMO nobody cares about what the decorations are, unless it is blatant. IMO holly isn't a blatant or specific christmas theme...
  I would send them

Re: POLL: HELP! Does the image of green holly with red berries signify XMAS?
Non religious except for the colors (green & red). I'm not qualifed to judge having been raised Catholic.
etd. I just got off the phone w. my mom (she's Jewish). First she said no, it's fine to send out. Then I said "What about to Jewish clients?" She said "Oh, that's a different story. Holly is typically a Christmas wreath."
Bottom line - she'd pick something else.

Its Seasonal, however when you see it you do think of Christmas, but it can be used for both.

Re: POLL: HELP! Does the image of green holly with red berries signify XMAS?
i think it is totally fine. it is a sweet gesture and should be viewed as one. it is such a shame that we always have to worry about being so PC.

Re: POLL: HELP! Does the image of green holly with red berries signify XMAS?
Personally, as a Jew, I view holly as symbolic of xmas, b/c it is used as an xmas decoration. I wouldn't be offended if I received a seasons greeting card with it, b/c I'm used to getting things like that. Personally, when I want to send out "generic" holiday/seasonal cards, I try and find something with snow flakes or snowmen.

i understand what some people are saying but i think that the cards are fine.
I mean ....candles are symbols of Hanukkah but that wouldn't stop me from having them on a holiday card

I am also jewish - and I feel the same way. I try to send out things with words of peace in different languages or generic winter scenes too.

I would go with something with a winter theme. Holly reminds me of Christmas.

I don't think it's "religious" per se but I do think it's Christmas and not really appropriate for Chanukah. JMO.

Re: UPDATE: POLL: HELP! Does the image of green holly with red berries signify XMAS?
Ancient Druids believed holly was favored by the sun god; upon conversion, Christians found a natural connection to the son of God.
