 Block party food
I'm looking for recipes for snack/appetizers that I can make ahead of time and just put out. I don't want to run in and out of the house a thousand times to check the oven. I already saw the recipe for the vegetable pizza.
I'm also looking for any great dessert ideas!

 Re: Block party food
My block party is next Sat. For dessert I'm making chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles, and I have a chocolate fountain that I'm going to use with a bunch of different things to dip. Other people are bringing dessert as well.
As far as snacks.. My Dh is making a tray of wings. I'm having a dip with veggies, pretzels, chips. I'm also going to try and make a spinach and artichoke dip. I need to find the recipe though.

 Re: Block party food
I had my block party a few weeks ago and I made mexican dip, I have a taco salad that's awesome, FM me if you want the recipe, I had chips, dip, vegetables and dip.
I also got a hero (4 ft), hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken marinated in Yoshida sauce. I made a gorgonzola salad w/walnuts.
For dessert my friends brought mostly. I made crumb cake (again, if you want that recipe I'll send it)
We had about 40 people at mine so we also hired a guy to cook (best thing we could have done).

 Re: Block party food
Seven Layer Magic Bars are delicious, easy to make. MUST SERVE COLD
½ cup (1 stick) butter or margarine 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs 1 (14 oz) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (Not evaporated Milk) 1 cup (6 oz) Hershey’s Butterscotch Flavored Chips 1 cup (6 oz) Hershey’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips 1 1/3 cups Mounds Sweetened Coconut Flakes 1 cup chopped almonds
Preheat oven to 350 (325 for glass dish). In 13x9 in baking pan, melt butter in oven. Sprinkle crumbs over butter; pour Eagle Brand evenly on top of crumbs. Top with remaining ingredients in order listed; press down firmly with fork. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Chill if desired (TASTE BETTER CHILLED). Cut into bars.
