Dr. Brown users - clogged nipples?

Is anyone experiencing clogged nipples with Dr. Brown's? I have 10 Level 1 nipples that I have been rotating for DD, and I already had to throw out two nipples because either they were clogged or the opening mysteriously closed up? I wash them in hot soapy water and sterilize them using the steam sterilizer, do you think this is making the nipple soft and stick together? I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this. Thanks!

I use them and that never happened-but I don't sterlize except when I first get them. I run them in my dishwasher on the sanitize cycle daily. Call Dr. Browns and ask them-maybe they'll send you some new ones

I'm thinking it may be from the sterilizing, it may make the nipple soft and fuse it together or something. Chat Icon

The nipples on my Dr. Brown's bottles always clogged. It all strated when my sons were put on Elecare. It was so frustrating for us and the babies. Every feeding would cause me anxiety b/c I never knew if the nipple was going to clog. We tried level 2 nipples but the flow was too fast for my boys.

hmm that never happened to me...we are up to the level 3 nipples now at 7 months. I'm thinking your sterilizer is doing that. If you look at the directions it says to only sterilize the nipples for the 1st time use. I would throw them all out and start fresh without using the sterlizer. I stick to hot soapy water and clean with the nipple brush.
