Re: Shower gift- price
$50 for a non-close friend or co-worker
$100-200 for a close friend or fam

Re: Shower gift- price
Around $50 for someone I'm not terribly close with, about $100 for a close friend or family member.

Re: Shower gift- price
while I know you don't give to receive, in the past I have spent closer to $100 for a friend's shower and gave extra $ compared to what I usually do (at the wedding) and I received a lot less. Should I still spend close to $100 for the shower?

i would do what you think is the right thing to do...i know it's hard to try not to compare but just do what you think you should.

Re: Shower gift- price
i spent about $500 on my best friend... and it wasnt even close to what she spent on me.. but since she is a working mom she didnt even expect that much from me.
for my other friend i spent about $300
these 2 girls i have known for 13+ years...
friends that i have made on LI since moving here.. i spend about $100 if they have a shower if not i will just buy them a gift.
usually for family i spend about $100 as well...
i am on my 2nd baby and my friend has already spent $400 on my gift (she had it mailed to me bc she isnt able to attend my baby shower) and she is sending the rest with her mother & sister (who are also throwing the shower for me)
so i guess it depends on your relationship with them
