Especially if you are a stay at home mom/dad
How many activities do you have your child in at one time? What are they?

Re: 4 yr olds
My DS is 5 now, but when last year he was in:
Preschool 4 days a week for 2.5 hours a day Swimming lessons once a week on Saturday Fall/Spring he had soccer once a week on Sunday
I work full time, and my parents watched him 5 days a week. They drove him to/from preschool. I never scheduled him for more activities during the week 1) because my parents were already doing more than enough for me, and 2) I thought anything more would be too much for him.

Re: 4 yr olds
My twins will be 4 in a few days
DS is in basketball on Saturdays DD is in dance on Fri afternoon.
They're in full day pre school 5 days a week.
Its honestly enough for them. By Fri night they are both in full meltdown mode.

Re: 4 yr olds
My son just turned 4. He's in full-day pre-k and that's it. Honestly, after shuttling his older sisters to dance, soccer, piano, etc etc...I just don't have any more time. When the older ones were 4, they both took dance 1x a week.
If he didn't do full days, I'd have him take swim lessons too--which I probably will anyway in the spring (and baseball, if he wants!).

My DS is in Pre-K 5 days a week from 8-3.
My mom and MIL take and pick him up from school during the week and my mom watches DD who is 11 months.
They do enough and both have said they will not take him to any activities during the week. It's too much for them and we can't blame them.
So right now he does nothing but school. He actually has no desire to do anything. I've asked over and over and he says no. DH is adamant he join one thing in the spring that practices on the weekends or later on in the day/early evenings...so we'll see how that goes

Re: 4 yr olds
my DS turned 4 about a month ago. im a SAHM and hes my only child. so its definitely exhausting keeping him busy He goes to preschool 3 AMs a week- so about 7.5 hours a week. he was doing soccer for an hour a week, but that ended a couple weeks ago- so I'm looking to get him into something else. we live in NJ and there are 2 gymnastics places near us that have "open play" times during the week. where you pay $8 for an hour, and the kids can just run around and use the equipment. there are no teachers, the parents just hang with the kids and help them out on the equipment. but he LOVES it!!!! especially in the winter when we can't go to the playground- its a great way to let him run around. I love it bc theres no commitment- if hes sick or we don't make it one week, no big deal. other than that, we just do playdates, go to the library, stuff like that. I figure there will be enough time when hes older to be running him all over the place!

Re: 4 yr olds
DS is 4.5, and he goes to 4K five days a week from 8:20-11am. Other than that, he has nothing else going on.
We keep talking about getting him started in something, but we're getting ready to move OOT so that makes it difficult to commit to anything.
DD is 5.5 and she goes to Kindergarten all day until 3pm, and she has dance on Thursdays right after school for an hour. That's it for her.
