4/5 year olds and snacking....
does anybody else's 4-5 year old turn into a whole different kid if they don't get something to eat every 2 or 2.5 hours??? DS will be 5 in a month. i'm a SAHM, so i always carry snacks with me or have snacks ready at home. i notice thats if its been more than about 2, 2.5 hours since he's had something to eat, he turns into a totally different kid! just starts getting angry, mad, etc. as soon as you give him something to eat, he's fine again (sweet, outgoing, talkative). i know protein helps keep them fuller longer- so i try to make sure he gets some protein at his meals (peanut butter, cheese, yogurt, chicken) he's not huge on eating meats... so PB and yogurt/cheese are his main kinds of proteins. i'm gonna ask his doctor at his check up coming up... but just curious if this is common?? even his preschool teachers have noticed it, too....

He might have low blood sugar- I do and if I don't' eat every few hours I get VERY irritable, cranky, have trouble concentrating etc.
I'd definitely ask the ped.
DD loves to snack, but it's more out of boredom I think. Her mood isn't affected by it

Is it recent? I know DD is like this when she's going through a growth spurt, usually right around her birthday, she has an insatiable appetite and is a grouch if I don't feed it!
