39 weeks, 1-2 cm dilated and 50% effaced....Need some encouragement...
Any encouraging stories from BTDT who went into labor shortly after stats like mine? I was not dilated at all last week so that's already a bit of progress. I've been having regular BH and cramping for almost a week now....I really want him to come on his own sooner rather than later!

I was not dialated at all and 0 percent effaced and I went into labor 5 days after that appointment. I was 9 days before my due date

I was walking around 1cm dilated for 2 weeks. I started to finally have contractions went to the hosp was still only 1 cm they sent me home. Within 3 hours my water broke and I had dd shortly after.
Walk around and take steaming hot showers. Steam the bathroom. And walk A LOT.

Sorry I only have discouraging words...ehhe I was at 3cm from 38 weeks to when I delviered at 41 weeks +1 dy (went on my own). I was also working on my feet all day/in and out of surgery and wrestling dogs/cats till 40 weeks...didn't help. Hopefully you will go early but I found it easier to remind myself average gestation for first time mom is 41 weeks 2 days (so I didn't get as upset when supposed due date came and went). It really can happen at any time!

It can happen any time. I saw my doctor on a thursday and was half a centimeter dilated and zero percent effaced...the next day I went into labor

I was 1cm dilated at 39 weeks and went into labor in my own at 40 weeks, 6 days (day before my induction). So it was a little time afterwards, but at least I went before my induction date.
Like everyone else said, go for lots of walks. It didn't work for me, but my friend went into labor the night after she walked a mini marathon with students from her school (at 38 weeks).

That is awesome! I went over a week past my due date and the day my labor started I was only a "fingertip" dilated. Good luck! Lots of walking!!

At my 40 week appointment I was 2cm dilated on a Monday. On Tuesday at 2:30 pm I thought I was going into labor, but was still only 2cm. By 2 am on Wednesday I was 6cm and ready to rock and roll. It can really happen at anytime. Hang in there!

I was never dilated at my last appointments. I went into labor on my own 4 days early after an appointment showing no progress. I was 5cm when I got to the hospital. Good luck.

i was about the same and never changed so they were going to induce me .. my water broke the night before we were supposed to get induced. Good luck!
They cant force you to be induced right away if you choose not to right?

At my 38 week appt I was not dilated at all
At my 39 week he said- just about a fingertip- not much at all
That was a Thursday.
Monday I started having irregular contractions.
Tuesday morning I went to the hospital with more regular contractions- got there around 8 am and I was 4-5 cm dilated already and ready to rock and roll!

Me too. Except I was 10 days before my due date! You just never know when your body is ready to have that baby!

I'd say you're well on your way!! I was *maybe* 1cm dilated and 75% effaced and having dull period-like cramps. Two days later I was officially in labor.
Unfortunately labor lasted two full days and it wasn't until the second day that I dilated past 3cm. Hopefully yours will be quicker.

I just went yesterday (37W/5d) and I am 0% dilated and 50% effaced. The doc told me its better to thin out first because usually that means you dilate more quickly, but he also said I could be like this or even just a couple cm dilated for a few more weeks. Every cervix and every baby is different!!
