39 weeks- decreased movement??
What's the "standard" amount that baby should be moving around at this point. This little guy is either reeeaaaalllyy tired, or just gearing up for the big event. He hasn't moved much more than a little nudge here or there in over 3 days.
I'm sure he's fine in there, but I'm just wondering if his little quiet time now *might* be the calm before the storm..

Re: 39 weeks- decreased movement??
I'm a few days shy of 38 weeks and am feeling a little less movement then usual. I hear it's completely normal to feel less movement towards the very end. These little one's don't have much room in there anymore.
Did you try eating or drinking something really cold and laying down? You should get a poke or two out of it

Re: 39 weeks- decreased movement??
I'm 39 weeks today. I feel a lot. It feels different than it used to - she can't stretch out her legs and arms to kick and punch me, but she is nudging and pushing and squirming a lot. The OB told me if I notice any decrease to call them right away. If you are worried, I would call to be safe. They'll hook you up to a fetal monitor to check the baby's heartrate. I had this done on Friday and all was good.

Re: 39 weeks- decreased movement??
I just had my 37 week appointment and definitely have decreased movement. They put me on the monitor and noticed that I am contracting and the baby is only moving when I contract. They said he moved enough and feel he's doing great. My ob thinks I'll go any day now (even though I'm only 37 weeks) and attributes the reduced movement to that.
Did you bring it up to your doctor? Perhaps they can throw the monitor on you. It's an easy and painless way to have peace of mind.
