38 weeks 6 days and spotting after internal ***see updated***

can someone please tell me if this is the "bloody show" or if this is from the internal exam? the exam didnt hurt at all so when i got home noticed some red/brown spotting i was suprised. i used a panty liner last night and woke up with just 3 mucosy brown/red spots.

BTW - i'm 0% effaced and almost 1CM dilated - another reason why i was suprised to see blood.

BTW 2 - next appt is on my due date 8/17
i can't believe its almost time!!

I spotted every time I had the internal done. My doctor told me to expect that I might too.

when i lost my mucus plug it was slowly...every morning for 4-5 days I would have some mucousy spotting in the morning. it wasn't a lot. maybe that is what it is.

Could be either. When they do the internal they are feeling your cervix, any cervical "irritation" can cause spotting. But, it can also be the start of things, you never know.

each time my doctor did an internal he said that i could have spotting.

thanks for the replies ladies!! its been a day and I'm still spotting and now its more mucusy, so hopefully it is my mucus plug. Maybe the internal was the jump start my body needed. Please cross your fingers for me!! Only 5 days to go till my due date.
