38 weeks - Sharp shooting pains in the nether regions
So for the last few weeks Ive been getting this occasional sharp shooting pain in the vag.
At 38w3d it has gotten increasingly worst and more painful. Like it will stop me in my tracks its so painful but only last a few seconds. I know this insnt contractions but what do you think it is?
Anyone else experience this?

Me!! It's the baby lowering down. It's 100% normal. I've been getting this for a few weeks now and I am 38 weeks and 5 days.

Thats what my guess is too. I think hes just getting low and in position which could be irritating my nerves down there. Ill ask my Dr tomorrow.

Isn't that called "lightning vagina"? Because it feels like a lightning bolt zapping you down there?
Anyway, I had it. And gave birth within a few days of it becoming more frequent. 
ETA: I was 38w 5d when I gave birth but the shooting pains started late 37th week.

Ive been getting these for the past week and Im 35 weeks....this baby better hold out for a couple of more weeks!

YES!!!! I've had these for like a month now I'm 39 weeks and a few days now and it's still going on. It hurts!!!! I find "clenching" down there helps to stop them and sitting down. Totally feel your pain!

I've been getting that for a while now, but it's not for the same reason as most - since I'm breech and the baby's still high up... For me it's the baby's feet kicking my cervix area and nerves. It feels like I'm getting shocked with an electric prodder (sp?) up there! Yowza!

Same here! She totally found my sciatic nerve and likes to kick it every now and then. OUCH!

I am 39 weeks and I have had them since 36 or 37 wks. I can't really remember when they started.
