3.5 year old bed time vent
Is is just me or does it take about an hour to 1.5 hours every might to get your child to go to sleep? My DS is speech delayed so he goes to a program at a school about a 20 minute ride away from home when I pick him up from school at 2:45 and he takes the bus in the AM at 7:30 ( 5 days a week). He has gym etc... so he is tired and naps on the way home. You'd think he be tired ... no ....it is a battle every night ..... every morning is another battle with getting dressed...screaming kicking etc..... We also have a 8 month old baby so we are getting drained. I can't stop him from napping when I am tired. Anyone have a hard time getting their DC to sleep

YES! DS is a nightmare (he just turned 5) I'm embarrassed to admit this but by the time DS gets in bed, it is 10 pm I was battling him every night to the point that we'd both be in tears. I stopped fighting the battle and now as long as he quietly plays, reads or watches TV, I let him. I am hoping once he starts kindergarten and is in school all day everyday he will get into a healthier bedtime routine.
