35 weeks-last sonogram...
The baby is measuring 5 lbs 11 oz. The sonogram tech told me that he's big. Really???
5 lbs 11 oz is big with 4 weeks to go?
He also told me that 29 pounds at 35 weeks is a bit much.
I hate male doctors.
ETA: The sono tech was a woman...the doctor who came in afterwards said all those things.
They also asked me why I was in to have a sonogram. They wanted to know if anything was wrong. I told them my doctor wanted me to come in to have a final sonogram.
No, I just was in the area, had nothing better to do and I wanted a sonogram...

I don't think your baby is too big now. if your baby gains 1/2 lb a week he/she will still be under 8 lbs. Pretty avearge no?

Sorry!!
You look great and I don't think it sounds like the baby is big for 35 weeks! My friend just had a baby at 36 week and she was 6 and a half pounds.

at 35 weeks I was 28 lbs and my dr never said anything.
I just went wed and LOST 3 lbs for my 36 week visit so now at 25lb-
I dont see how 4 lbs makes a big difference!!!!!
at 30 weeks they did a growth sono on me due to the GD and baby was 4 lbs 8 oz at 30 weeks!!!!!
I find out next wed just how big baby is now.
I think 5 lbs is awesome!!!!! I can only wish!!!

Please don't listen to him. I had my 34 week sono on Monday and my baby girl is 5.4lbs. According to my doctor she is measuring perfectly!
Besides, many times their guesstimates are way off.
You look good and your measuring good....no worries!

Don't listen to him... he's an assshole! You didn'y gain too much and 5 lbs 11oz is not too big!! Don't elevate him... he's a sono tech- NOT a doctor!  You look fabulous!!

At 31 1/2 weeks, my baby was 4 1/2 lbs. The tech said that the baby was good size....and that if I went to term the baby would be about 8 1/2 lbs. So I can't see why they would say that your baby is too big??? If the baby gains about 1/2 lb a week, your baby would be around 8lbs. Don't worry, people, even drs, can be crazy

I don't think that's big at all!!! I just had my 32 week sonogram and my baby is measuring 6lbs. Now that is big considering I have 8 weeks to go. As for for weight gain, what the heck are they talking about??? I think you look fabulous and don't think it's a lot at all.

Sounds like you are doing great. Both my boys were in the 5lb range at 33/34 weeks so it sounds on target to me...although all my friends who had girls weighed in the 4lbs range at that time. Both my boys were born in my 37th week weighing in a little over 7lbs.
Mr dr didn't understand why I wanted a 34 week growth sono when all was going well. Well glad I said I wanted it....I had low amniotic fluid and had to be monitored!
ETA - I can't believe you are 35 weeks already..wow - fast!

I don't think that is big at all....and saying you gained too much....They are crazy!!!
If I went there for my 35 week sono....I would really get yelled out for gaining too much weight.
Don't listen to the sono tech.
