30th Surprise 30th Venue
I posted this in the family chat as well, but no one seemed to answer and I figured everyone here is planning/having baby showers so you ladies may be able to help me out! I'm looking to plan a 30th surprise birthday party for my DH - somethine inexpensive since we have baby on the way, and I'll be 8 months pregnant at that point and no longer working! We'll most likely have about 40-50 people...
TYIA!!

Where are you looking? (Nassau/Queens . . . etc) and what type of venue?

Re: 30th Surprise 30th Venue
Oh - that would help! We live in babylon so something Western Suffolk or Eastern Nassau would be good

Re: 30th Surprise 30th Venue
I threw DH a 30th bday party in Long Beach, at Sutton Place. I think I paid just under $40/pp... great food, great room and they have a flat screen TV so you can make a slide show.
I had my sister's bridal shower at EB Eliiots in Freeport and they did a great job, I think I paid around the same price.
HTH
ETA: I heard Bulldog Grille in Amityville does a great job with private parties but I'm not familiar with their prices.

Re: 30th Surprise 30th Venue
We couldn't afford to do anything big for a rehearsal dinner (we paid for it ourselves) so we had a "cocktail party" with beer and wine included at The Post Office Cafe in Babylon Village. There was plenty of food even though it wasnt an actual meal and they just expanded within the last tear or two so there's a really nice seperate area with fireplace and it's own bar. I believe prices are posted on their website. With tax and tip included I think it came out to $33 pp.

Paddys Loft in Massapequa? They have a nice private room that could probably fit that many. Have fun!
