30.5 week appointment and my baby weighs....

30.5 week appointment and my baby weighs....
OMG! I just went to my appointment for anatomy/growth sono (I am 30.5 weeks) and they said the baby is weighing just under 4 pounds!!! Dr. thinks the baby could weigh around 8 pounds! I can't push out an 8 pound baby!
How accurate are they in estimating the weight?
I am getting scared! I really don't want to end up in a c-section and I certainly don't want to rip in two!
HOw much did/does your baby weigh at this point?

I think the girls says give or take a pound. I will let you know after thurs how accurate mine was. at 32 weeks they were saying 5lbs 4 oz and at 35 weeks we were at 6lbs 13 oz and im 39 weeks now.

don't worry.. when i had my first i was 120 lbs when i delivered my son.. he was 8 lbs 6 ounces and i had him vaginally and didn't rip in 2.. you can do it. it's amazing what the body can handle!

My SIL just had a baby and she was told approximately the same numbers at the same time. The baby was born at exactly 40 weeks weighing 6 lbs 15 oz - growth sonos aren't always correct.

I had a 30 week sono and my baby did weigh 4 lbs with a big head! The doctor said he could be 8 or 9 lbs and may need a c-section. Well I just had my 38 week sono and the baby is weighing "average" at 7lbs and 7 oz. with an average head. Still he will probably be 8 or 8 and a half pounds, but my doctor was surprised thinking he would be a lot bigger. So I wouldn't worry, they have growth spurts sometimes and then average out. Also sonos are wrong a lot of times and most times babies come out weighing less than what they estimate.
