something to do this weekend (lavender farm related)

This weekend my inlaws are having a grand opening at their lavender farm. It's from 9-5 both days.

From 9-12 there will be refreshements served and a free lavender plant will be given for any purchase over $25.00.

In addition - the fields are blooming right now - so it is a GREAT time to take pics for all you photographers. You can also pick your own lavender.

Just thought I would mention it since so many of you have asked me about the farm in the past. I will be there so make sure you say hi if you come!!

lavenderbythebay.com had directions if you need them.

ETA: The event will go on rain or shine - they are actually celebrating their new farm stand so everything is indoors now!!

I need something to do with the kids this weekend. Maybe we will trek out to East Marion. Know if anything is going on in Greenport?? Are any of the tall ships in port? It's been so long since I have been there (it's always the next town over that never gets visitedChat Icon )

There is a lot to do out here with kids this weekend including the carousel, pick your own berries, and the harbes family farm is a great place to visit too. Between the water/boats/ice cream and all the shops I think you will find you will be plenty busy!

I try not to visit the farm stands during the weekends, WAY too many people. I like a nice quiet weekdayChat Icon We just picked our strawberries from our CSA so I already have 2 quarts... Jeremy just got stitches on his big toe so a beach is out of the question.Chat Icon Chat Icon Maybe Ill pop him in the stroller, drag along my mom for the dayChat Icon

Jenn this sounds like fun! Tomorrow we're going to see my FIL- he landed himself in the hospital today and had to have a blocked artery cleared out. If all goes as planned he gets to come home tomorrow, otherwise we'll be visiting him in the hospital.
Sunday, Greg's videoing a wedding, but I'll see if my SIL wants to take the kids and take a ride w/ me. Will you be there both days? Chat Icon

that is funny - you can eat it right off the stem - but only english lavender!! and truthfully it tastes MUCH better when made in a recipe..otherwise it tastes like you are eating perfume!!!

DH and I went as well. It was beautiful!

DH went crazy because he got stung by a bee in the head! But other than that, it was fantatic. I took some beautiful pictures that I'll post later Chat Icon
