As if there isn't enough going on in my life right now....
Brian's sister is in the hospital....
She is 21 weeks preggers, and she had a gush of blood come from her Saturday and Sunday morning. So she is in the hospiital til at the earliest 28 weeks of gestation.
Here's my question....
I am going to bring her books to the hospital, but I wanted to bring her snacks as well.
She has GD, and I have no idea what I can bring her.... Can any of you that have BTDT help me out?

look for items low in carbohydrates - nuts, cheese - i loved olives and pickles - both of which have no carbs.

Sounds good.... I will bring nuts.... I have a party mix of those. Anything else?
I don't want to bring her olives or pickles.... she has nowhere to store them.

You might want to check with her that she is allowed outside food...when I was in the hospital with the twins I had GD and they monitored my diet closely so I wasnt allowed any outside food..
HOWEVER, I had a nurse that would look the other way as long as my glucose levels were OK.

peanut butter, mini whole wheat pitas, popcorn... these are snacks that i ate and now starting again with baby #2

They are letting her have outside food.... Her DH has been bringing her stuff b/c she is SUPER anal about the foods that she eats, but when they bring food from the kitchen.... they bring her cake! I mean seriously - she has spoken to the dietician over and over again asking her why the kitchen of the hospital is bringing her sugary things that she's not supposed to be having....

That is so weird. I had in big letters on my menu GD...then when I had to stay in a second time they knew I was on Procardia, which is a high blood pressure medication, but I wasnt on it for high blood pressure it was to keep me from having contractions..they put me on a low sodium diet.
No Sugar + No Salt = One very unhappy pregnant person.
