3 wk old taking less formula but more often?
Has anyone's DC suddenly started taking less formula but screamed for a bottle more often?
DD is 3 weeks today and I feel like she's kind of regressing with her feeding and sleeping. She used to take 3 ounces consistently and sleeping for 3 hours. She now is taking anywhere between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 and only sleeping for 2 hours at a time at most, and much of it, she wakes crying, we console and she goes back to sleep. It's the oddest thing. I'm exhausted and frustrated but I don't know what to do. I'm wasting so much formula, sometimes she will take a 4 ounce bottle if she miraculously sleeps for 3 or 4 hours. Nothing is consistent at all and I feel like she should be developing some sort of pattern by now or am I just crazy to think this? Please help, any advice would be appreciated!

Three weeks was a growth spurt for both of my kids. All of a sudden super hungry a lot more frequently. It will pass.
Are you getting good burps? Without good burps their little tummies fill up with air and they "think" they are full even though they aren't...then they are fussier and hungrier sooner. Either way, 3 weeks is usually a growth spurt so they will eat more often.

I definitely don't get consistent burps from her. Sometimes she burps like a champ and then sometimes I can be trying for a half and hour and nada. I definitely think that aids in how much she takes from her bottle and also her gas and fussiness. I tried the over the shoulder, the lap burp, just holding her up right and walking around and nothing.

I'm EBFing, but it definitely sounds like a growth spurt. When DS goes through a growth spurt, he tends to nurse every hour or two and for a shorter period of time. I know there's typically a growth spurt at 3 weeks old.
