3 hour glucose test Q and Quest lab Q
1-For the 3 hour glucose test, they take blood every hour. Do they take the blood from different veins or do they keep prodding the same vein?
2-For Quest Labs, I'm trying to make an appointment for the test. Now if I just plug in info for the glucose test, there are appointments. But if I say that I have to fast, suddenly all those openings disappear. Does it really matter to them if I fasted?

They alternate arms with taking the blood. With the times, I would just put it in as non fasting if the times are disappearing, it really doesn't matter, no matter what it is a timed test.

Also, I'm trying to schedule it for next Saturday but the appointments are all blocked out.
Can I just GO at 6 or 7 or whatever hour they open? 
For my other times, I just went but it was a weekday afternoon.

They took it from three different spots for me. But that was bc I have horrible small veins.
As for the fasting it might make a difference in the test results. I would ask your dr. The lady at quest told me they do not do three hour exams on Sat bc they are only open for like four hours. So, if the time is disappearing it might be bc its only for the one hour test where you dont need to fast. I had to take a day off of work a do it. If you do that make sure you go as early as possible like 8 am. I was so dizzy and sick after and my appointment was at 9.

you can't do a three hour at quest on a saturday. that's why its all blocked out. you do need to make an appt. for another day. and they will alternate arms each time. except with me, they messes up so i got three in one arm and one in the other.

YOU MUST FAST!! The first time they draw blood is to confirm that you fasted.

Don't do an afternoon appt, I did that and they weren't going to do it, I begged them saying how i took off work. The lady said that I fasted too long, but she still did it.
