3 carseats straight across?
My DH has a Dodge Durango. It has a 3rd row but he wants to keep it down because he puts a lot of construction stuff in the back. We are expecting twins in the spring and his idea was to put all 3 carseats in a row in the back (2nd row). The twins and my 3 yr old DS. Right now DS is in a high back seat but DH thinks by that time he will be able to go into a booster. I don't think it's safe to have all 3 across like that nor do I think it will fit! The infant bases are wide!
What do you all think...he is crazy isn't he...
(PS I have a minivan so I will be ok and I told him we should trade in the Durango and get a second minivan lol  )

I can't answer about 3 in a row, you would have to check your car, but I would also check the 3rd row. If I'm not mistaken, my 3rd row in my Acura isn't made for carseats.

They may fit across. My husband has a Nissan Titan, which has the same rear seat as the Armada and he can easily fit 3 huge seats across the back. I would go to BRU and ask if you can try them.

3 carseats straight across?
Check out car-seat.org. I've been on there a lot lately researching convertibles and there are tons of posts about 3 across in various vehicles. I know the recaro seats are often mentioned as being some of the narrowest seat if you want to keep him in a full seat.

I fit 3 across my Prius and it is never an issue. They are all safely installed.
ETA My 5 yr old in in a highback booster, DS is in a convertible carseat and the baby will be in an infant carrier. We tested it to make sure it would work. It also works with 2 convertibles and the booster.

We will not be putting 3 seats across and will be utilizing our 3rd row.
I have 1 in a high back and 1 in a 5 point ( both nautilus) and I just don't think it's safe to cram all the car seats in one row plus I don't want the boys that close to the baby.
Both boys will go in the 3rd row and the baby in the middle row. I will leave the middle seat folded down to access the boys in the back easier. IMO I wouldn't do it

My suv specifically says the 3rd row is not safe for car seats, so I would check.
I can fit 3 across utilizing the belts but not latch system. I do it often for a friend's dd to fit.
