3 carseats across in a Nissan Murano?
Does anyone know whether it's possible to fit 2 infant carseats and a forward facing convertible in a 2009 Nissan Murano?
We are expecting and my DD will be just over 3 when they arrive. We probably need to upgrade to a minivan but the Murano was supposed to be our 'forever' car.

Re: 3 carseats across in a Nissan Murano?
I'm wondering the same thing about my 2007 Lexus ES 350. That car is paid off and we really can't afford another car payment with on the way.
I think I'm going to have to buy a Radian Diono for DD who will be 4 when they're born. I also have a newer Graco which is supposed to be narrower.
My sister has 3 carseats in her Prius so I have to imagine that anything is possible with some creativity.
(BTW - We're breaking down and buying a mini-van too. DH currently drives a CRV and there's no way 3 seats would fit in there.)

I looked up the Murano owners manual and I didn't see anything saying you couldn't use the center seat to install a car seat. I would use the latch system on both the passenger and driver side for the infant seats and the center for the forward facing.
I would also suggest going to buy buy baby and have them put the potential car seats in your car to see if they would physically fit.

Yes. I had a Murano as a loaner car when my minivan was in the shop. I fit 3 convertible car seats back there....all in a row.

I wouldn't spend the $$$ on a Diono for a 4 year old. I would look at a Harmony Defender (sold only at Walmart, currently not in stock but should be back in June/July I believe) The Defender is the narrowest combination seat on the market. It will harness up to 65 pounds and then change into a high back belt positioning booster.

Check with the Car Seat Safety guy on here and the NYS troopers to make sure it's all legit. My friend didn't realize that she had a big no-no going on until she got it checked out. I'm doing the same for mine before I buy expensive car seats (or an expensive SUV, lol )

Read your vehicle manual. Typically you will have to install the center seat with the seatbelt and then the outboard seats can be installed with either latch OR seatbelt whichever you can get a better install with. (NOT both though)
Checking with NYS troopers won't matter unless they are a certified tech.

I didnt realize I never explained why not to spend the $$. If you buy the Diono for FF you are only utilizing half of what it can do because you arent going to be rear facing her in it.
