2WW Survival Guide

Since so many of us are going through the 2WW together, I thought it would be fun to start a thread about things we can do to make it go by faster and keep our minds from obsessing.

Some initial thoughts:
- Go away with DH for the weekend (I wish...we both have too much work to do)

- Read a good book...or 10!

- Start a complicated jigsaw puzzle (we've had a 2000 piece puzzle of Van Gogh's Starry Night) on our dining room table for the past few weeks)

- Make good use of your Netflix account and watch many, many movies - streaming is fabulous!

- Start a new craft project (unless you're totally uncrafty, like me)

- Go to the movies and try to see some Oscar contenders

-This one might only apply to me but it's a biggie...Work on your dissertation so that you can finally get your doctorate and graduate this semester!

Add your ideas!

I say we all go out for drinks since it's still ok to drink in the 2ww Chat Icon

I probably wont be doing anything different, except ask DH every so often "When will the babies be here".

He LOVES when I do that.Chat Icon

Add shopping to the survival guide, that helped me today, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the rest of the 2ww. Chat Icon Good Luck everyone. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Also, invest in a Wii system, if you don't have one already. I love it and it really keeps us busy.

Re: 2WW Survival Guide

From around month 5 or 6 of ttc until just after our IVF failed in July I did puzzles all the time. At that point it was literally the only thing that kept my mind off of everything. I bought tons of the smaller Disney ones from $ tree as well as two huge ones of Miney and Mickey. I used puzzle glue to preserve them and hope to one day frame some and use them in a LO's room.

Anyway the short version is, I highly recommend puzzles. They are really relaxing and a welcome distraction.

I know I should be working on report writing for work, but since we all know I'm not...

-check LIF incessantly
-bake
-cook (more interestingly than usual)

and I second the other ideas:
-catch up on TV shows
-puzzles - they are great!
-shop - a little retail therapy goes a long way
-catch some movies

hobbies and keeping busy, esp. away from the comp.
being super busy with work helped.
acupuncture and meditation for relaxation.
those were the best ways for me to deal.
