2nd pregnancy moms...
For those of you who had drop-side cribs for your DC#1s....
Will you buy a new crib that does not have drop sides for your DC2s since there are new guidelines and recommendations about drop side cribs?
It kinda drives me nuts! Dh and I are going back on it....me with the "let's replace it attitude," him with the "there's nothing wrong with it attitude" and it does kinda make me a little annoyed that a new crib is going to be hundreds of dollars more!
Just looking to hear what everyone is doing!

My initial answer would be I would buy a new crib. However, I wonder if my answer were the same if the money actually had to come out of my pocket :)

I think I'm going to keep mine, I think I can get equiptment to make it stationary from the manufacturer, but I am short Im going to need a step stool to put the baby in the rib when it gets bigger

A friend of my moms is giving her a drop side crib and I see nothing wrong with it. They having being using these types of cribs for years and it is way to expensive to buy a new one. Of course we will have a new crib at our house but that is because it will be our first DC

We are keeping ours. We spent SO much money on it  and we used it for our first 2 children. I just can't be spending hundreds of dollars for a new crib. Especially since this is our last baby.

I almost bought one for DS, but decided against it. I'm glad I did.
If I had bought one, I would most likely buy a new one for this baby. I wouldn't trust it.

Honestly, it's a matter of preference and finances... I would personally replace it since it's been a number of years btwn (DC1 & 2 right? Or am I crazy?) and who knows about the specifications back then. There are plenty of inexpensive cribs out there that are not drop side cribs... I could not live with myself if something were to happen... I don't know if you plan on having a sprinkle or a shower for this LO. But you can always state that you would like gift certificates so you can put it toward a crib.

I have a Bellini from 2007 that I am currently using for DC 2, and DC 3 will use it also. This crib was not part of the recall.

Our crib is Bellini also, but it was a hand-me-down when we used it 6 years ago for DD. It is a beautiful, well made crib...but it's also probably about 10 years old now. I have to pull it out of storage to check if it was necessarily recalled...but...it is drop side.
I just don't know. Part of me says that we should replace it. Part of me also says that this is our last child and it was such a well made crib that I defianately considered safe for DD.
It is also interesting to see the difference in responses on the parenting board compaired to pregnancy board. Many of the parenting board responses were that they'd use the crib...and many of the pregnancy responses is that it should be replaced.
I am just at a loss! I don't know what we should do!

Nope. My DS2 is in the dropside from DS1 now and DC3 will go into the same crib as well.
Ours is Bellini, which has never had a brand-specific complaint. We'll fix the drop part - which I never use now anyway except to change the sheets - and once that is done I don't see any reason to buy a new one JMO.
