2nd b-day party ideas
Time is flying and it will be May b4 you know it. Mason will be 2 May 28th Since we are having his party the same day and it's Memorial Day weekend I wanted to start planning. For his 1st we did it at my parent's in NJ. Lots of pple and we hired someone to entertain the kids with music and dance. Now we're in NJ with a big backyard and a pool.
The list is smaller since we're doing immediate family and friends with kids around the same age or older
Any ideas? Theme? Do we have to hire someone to entertain? Did pple do something else for the kids? He loves Sesame, Yo Gabba Gabba, Dora (DH does NOT want a Dora party ) Should we do a pool party or is that too unsafe? Thanks!

I think a pool party is fine as long as everyone knows beforehand so they are prepared. I think a Yo Gabba Gabba party would be fun. And I would skip entertainment

How about Diego and Dora? or a red, white and blue themed for Memorial Day Weekend?

do a pool party, but hire a lifeguard.
is your pool heated?
there are a ton of pool party themes you could do.
when he's a little older, you could creat spongebobs world under the water.
maybe you could do finding nemo now?

Re: 2nd b-day party ideas
I just did a YGG party for DS' 1st birthday and it was a lot of fun - lots and lots of cool ideas out there.
A pool party would be nice, especially for Memorial Day weekend. Just make sure it's clear so everyone comes prepared. An entertainer is not necessary. You could always hire a lifeguard from the local pool or whatever instead for peace of mind.

I like the "finding nemo" idea. He LOVES fish. He gets excited when he sees them or even a picture, but he never watched the movie b/c he only can do short TV shows for now Yup, our pool is heated. I wouldn't be able to go in if it wasn't

You can do a generic fish theme, it doesn't have to be Nemo. And I like the suggestion if hiring a lifeguard.

Re: 2nd b-day party ideas
I would think Memorial Day weekend is a bit cold for a pool party.
I really like the Dora/Diego theme party idea. DS is 2 and LOVES both Dora and Diego.
I saw a few ads about animal parties. I don't think they are too expensive and you can have them bring bunnies and other small animals to your home. I know the 2yo group loves animals. I think I'd do something like that if I had a house.

Last year it was so hot at his party. We had to move stuff to the shade b/c it was so hot in the sun and the next day my friend had a pool party so I'm not too worried Plus, the pool is heated and kids would jump in a pool of ice if you let them. LOL!
