Hello
Hi everyone! I see my sister has updated you all already on the birth of my baby boy! Landon Henry was born on May 31, 2008 - a full 2 weeks overdue! He was an even 9 lbs and 22 inches long. I had a pretty horrible birth experience... I will post my full birth story at a later time, but I went through 44 hours of labor including 4 hours of pushing (without meds) only to end up having a c-section. After only 1 hour of pushing my midwife and DH saw the head and we all thought he would be coming out at any minute. Unfortunately he was in a Transverse position which would not allow him to come out. I spent 3 more hours pushing hoping for him to turn. I even had a dr. with her whole arm inside of me turning the baby as I pushed. The way my midwife described it was trying to fit a square peg through a round hole. There was no way he was coming out naturally. What makes me feel better is I gave it my all and we tried everything we could to avoid the c-section. My midwife was even in tears at the end. The c-section wasn't bad but my recovery has been very painful. Not only do I have to recover from the c-section, but I have all of the "problems" from a vaginal delivery such as hemmrooids, tearing, and swelling down there. I am here in the hospital til Tuesday. I am not looking forward to going home since I can barely walk.
But even after this horrible experience I am SO HAPPY to have my little boy here. Having Landon was worth every second of the pain and suffering. He is more perfect than I ever imagined. He has been doing very well with breastfeeding and I am really enjoying it and bonding with him. Watching DH interact with the baby melts my heart. I love being a mommy and after only 1 day I can't imagine my life without him.

So sorry you went through all that on TOP of a 2 week wait  I give you a LOT of credit
The recovery will go quickly, just make sure to take care of yourself too!! See you on the Parenting board

Congrats!! You look amazing, especially considering what you just went through. Recover gets easier, days 3-4 are the worst.

Aww, Julie congrats!! Landon is GORGEOUS. I'm so sorry you had such a horrible birth experience- the farthest thing I'm sure from what you were hoping for. Looking forward to hearing the whole story. Hope you are feeling better shortly.
