So I just got diagnosed with an astigmatism...
I've been to the eye doctor before, and i've had eyeglasses before (though they were very weak).
Can that just show up? I feel like something like that would have always been there...
I can't wait to get my glasses tomorrow so I can SEE! I didn't realize how crappy my eyesight was until I had the lenses on today. I swear I heard a choir go "ahhhhhhh"

it can just show up. my daughter has it and it just means she does not see strait like someone who does not have it. it's not horrible and sometimes with the glasses it helps to corrected a little. hope this help.

Ah - I figured my cornea didn't change shape 
I'm getting glasses tomorrow - hopefully it helps. I thought my headaches from grading were because my kids' handwriting was so terrible. Turns out it was my eyesight

i had "normal" perscription for years .. like 10.. one year a doc goes.. oh you have an astigmatism try this... apparantly i had it the whole time but they were overcompansating for the astigmatism by issuing stronger contacts to make them cheaper for me ... (i vaguely remeber that convo 7 years ago haha)
it does lessen headaches tremendously having the right script for your eyes
give it a week or two you'll feel like a new person

I have it in my left eye. It just means that it takes that eye a few extra seconds to focus. Not big deal at all!

Same for me. I had one years ago and it corrected itself in a couple of years...
