Ladies - please help me with any advice - re: my back
I am in excruciating pain again with my back. It hurts when I walk, carry Cailen, etc - it just started again at some point today.... I was feeling awesome, being super careful, etc- and now I'm going thru this again....
I looked back at the time it hurt me last (the end of September) - and I noticed something - both times I had AF that week - do you think there is something connected with that?
ETA - it does not feel like cramps at all - it feels like a pulled back muscle - which is what it is... I never had back problems ever - not before or during my pregnancy - and I had no problem after I gave birth - this began in Sept, and Cailen was born in April!

Where in your back? My tailbone hurts me every single day since I was about 34 weeks pregnant.
If it is your lower back, and it is when you have AF, maybe it is just cramping? Try some advil, maybe that will do the trick

Re: Ladies - please help me with any advice - re: my back
I'm sure there is.
I have a bad back and often get spasms for days where I can't move. I also get bad back aches around the time of AF.
Try to take some Aleve and take it easy. Don't bend over. If you have to squat down. Give baths in the sink, that KILLS your back to use the tub. Also, I know for me, limit your caffine, because for some reason it makes my back hurt more
Feel better

I have a bad back (spinal fusion) and I know that when I get AF, it does feel worse. I would have it checked out just to make sure nothing else is going on if you haven't already. I hope you feel better, back pain is awful.

Re: Ladies - please help me with any advice - re: my back
There could definately be a connection. My lower back always bothers me w/ AF, sometimes it's absolutely excruciating. Try Aleve, it's very strong, it might knock the pain out. If it's a specific area, the last time it happened to me, I alternated ice packs and a heating pad every 20 minutes, and it worked wonders. Feel better!

Re: Ladies - please help me with any advice - re: my back
I should say that i went to the dr. back in September, he watched me move, assessed where the painw as, and told me that its muscular, and there is nothing I can do except take muscle relaxers and try and take it easy and wait for it to get better...
I dont know why this is happening all of a sudden - ironically, it happened after I lost weight, and became more fit... but also, Cailen became heavier....
I can't bathe him in the sink - he's too big, and the water shooter thing doesn't work... plus, theres always dishes in there!

I had a bad back for months after I had Sara ( Via C-section). It was to a point that it hurt to even lay down. Eventually it went away. Good luck and feel better

Is it a throbbing pain? I get that before AF sometimes. Feel better! No - its like when you pull a muscle, and it pulls other muscles in that area - it hurts to do anything - I could deal with a throb - this just hurts everytime I move!!

Ah, okay, thank goodness it's a muscle but I know it hurts. Have you tried a heating pad? I was told by an acupuncturist that I LOVED that a DRY heating pad was the way to go. I still use it and he was right, it makes me feel so much better. Maybe give it a try? Feel good.

It happens to me every, single month when I get AF. I cannot hold Ava for a few days because my lower back muscles spasm terribly.

Re: Ladies - please help me with any advice - re: my back
I have a bad back- ruptured L$ and L% it definitely gets worse with AF but sometimes it just gets a spasm. I was supposed to have surgery a few years ago since the extrusions from the rupture were pressing on my nerves making my leg numb and I could not walk to be honest I was a little apprehensive since I did not hear many success stories so I started with a Chiropractor on a daily basis then weekly then monthly now I have been weaned off for about 2 years now-I still get minor pain that I will take Aleve for(the only med that works on my back for some reason) - but I figure it comes with the territory of a back injury in the past and a giant kid I need to tote around-LOL Best of luck feel better soon!

Have you ever tried a chiropractor?
I was going to suggest the same thing. If the doctor has nothing to offer besides muscle relaxers, try a chiropractor.

Re: Ladies - please help me with any advice - re: my back
Is there someone you can get painkillers from? Maybe that would allow your muscles to relax. Or maybe just a glass of wine? A heating pad? That helps me when I have back pain. I'm so sorry you're going through this...it can REALLY put a damper on things
