I live in Merrick. My kids will be going to public school. That is what I pay my high taxes for. Most of my neighbors send their kids to catholic school though  I dont have a problem with anyone sending their children to Catholic School. I just dont get it when you live in an excellent area with great schools.

many parents want their children to be exposed to their faith every day. In Catholic School, children pray every day and the faith is a big part of the daily routine. that is why parents send their kids to Catholic schools even though the public schools in their area are good.

Same here, we live in Merrick too and DS will be going to public school.

If I could afford Catholic school, my kids would def be going there. Right now they are in public school. My only reason for wanting them to go would be because they can practice their faith and not have to give any extra time to go to religious education classes. It would be part of the regular school day.

absolutely public school. DH went to catholic school and even now frequently says how he hated it and it was a waste of $$$(in his opinion)

If I stay in the city, I will send my daughter to a Jewish religious day school school.

i live in queens and ds goes to catholic prek and will hopefully stay there. i like that you get religion everyday, i like the smaller class size. yes the tuition is a lot but as long as i can make the sacrifice i will. and there is no way he would go to public high schools so it looks like catholic schools for the next 13 years

my children will attend Catholic or a private, independant school. Has nothing to do with our school district, just with the way we want them raised in a religious aspect.

I live in White Plains, and for such a big district, WP has excellent public schools, so that's where DS will go.
ETS- If we decided to go with some form of private school, it would not be a religious one.
