20th anniversary idea
My husband and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary at the end of the month. We always said we would take a second honeymoon, but the money is just not there. Without spending a ton, do you have any ideas of something special we could do? Would have to be local and fairly inexpensive.
I would have loved to go back to where we had our first date, but it was at the restaurant at Jones Beach and its not there anymore.

It was in an empty catering hall. They don't do dinner, just cater out. But that was a good idea!

Would you be able to swing a weekend away? We love staying in Rhinebeck. It's about 90 minutes from nyc, and there's so many quaint things to do up there. We just stay over Saturday night, so it's a reasonable hotel fee.

Could you do a night in the city?
Or, also as PP mentioned - Rhinebeck is really nice. Or Woodstock (the town, not Bethel where the concert was). New Hope PA is really not very far

Go to Port Jeff and walk around town and shops. Stay at Danfords overnight and eat at their restaurant on the water. Watch the ferry come in and out. Have too much wine and take a stroll in the small park on the water.

Dh and I did this for our 5th anniversary. It happens to be during a blizzard but we had such a great time. Get a room with a fire place it's worth it and off season Danfords isn't that expensive.

We just celebrated our tenth anniversary at the grand cascades lodge in hamburg, nj. We celebrated our fifth at the crystal springs resort in nj too. Both were lovely.
