Ann Coulter: Jews Need To Be Perfected
Ann Coulter was her usual controversial self during her appearance on The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch on Monday, proclaiming that the world would be a better place if everyone was Christian.
The skinny platinum conservative pundit was on the CNBC talk show to promote her new book, If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans, which hit bookshelves last week.
Coulter, 45, of course, has very particular ideas about how the world should be run. She recently told the New York Observer that she’d like to abolish women’s suffrage. “If we took away women’s right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine.”
Deutsch, 49, asked Coulter if the world would be a better place if she were in charge. “Tell me why this would be a better world?” he asked.
“Take the Republican National Convention,” she replied, “people are happy, they’re Christian, they’re tolerant, they defend America...”
“So we should be Christian?” he asked. “It would be better if we were all Christian?”
“Yes,” she said.
“We should all be Christian?” the Jewish talk show host asked incredulously.
“Yes. Would you like to come to church with me, Donny?” she laughed.
“You said we should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians then?”
“Yeah. Well, it’s a lot easier. It’s kind of a fast track. But you have to obey,” she said. “We just want the Jews to be perfected. That’s what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws. We know that we’re all sinners.”
Deutsch called her remark “absurd” and added, “If Ann Coulter had any brains, she would not say that Jews need to be perfected. I’m offended by that, personally.”
After the commercial break, she apologized to the CNBC host. “No, I’m sorry it is not intended to be [offensive]. I don’t think you should take it that way. But that is what Christians consider themselves – perfected Jews.”
“Don’t you see how hateful and anti-Semetic [that is]?” Deutsch asked. “How do you not see it? You’re an educated woman.”
“That’s not hateful at all!” she exclaimed.
“That’s an even scarier thought,” said Deutsch.

People should just stop having her on their shows. She is pure evil. Stop giving her the fame she doesn't deserve.

How many of these Bible slinging "Christians" would even break bread with these people?
Jesus was about inclusion, the right wing Christians are about exclusion and judgement.

Deutch was on Today this morning talking about this. To paraphrase him, he said he compared her to Britney Spears - until Britney crashes her car again, people forget about her. Similarly, until Ann Coulter says something insulting and outrageous, people forget about her too.

The one thing I thought of when I was watching the clip this morning was the bit Kathy Griffith does on her 
As for the forum to speak, he was saying that the only reason he had her on was to discuss her business model, because love her or hate her, she is very successful and wealthy. Then he went on to say that her outrageous statements and theories are part of her business model - it's how she keeps her name familiar to people.

Clearly she didn't grow up in the area of Bensonhurst that I did if she thinks that Christians are 'more tolerant.'
I would be so tempted to give up my right to vote and everything that the womens movement has achieved in the last hundred years if it meant that she would not be able to spew her bull$hit in public anymore.

I am a Christian. I am conservative, yet I do not like everything the Republican or Democratic party does.
That being said, her remarks were ignorant, anti-Semitic, and deplorable.
People like her give conservative Christians a really bad name and it makes me angry that she is the media's "representative" for conservative Christian women.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the left wing / democratic message is live and let live, inclusion, everyone has a RIGHT to say whatever they want, it is a free Country??
I guess that is belief holds true only if you are NOT a republican, Christian, or right-winger?? I just want to get it right.
ETA: Not to toot my own horn, but I DID work at a non-profit for years helping people in Lower Manhattan retain their employees that made UNDER $12 per hour, were transitioning to from welfare and really needed to keep working to support their family.
Even though my DH and I are on a tight budget we give money away and donate to social mission causes.
AND I volunteered with my DH to work in a shelter on Thanksgiving two years in a row, I missed Thanksgiving with OUR families to help others. So yes, I have "broken bread" with people who needed help and I have helped them financially AND by donating my time to help them. I am so livid by YOUR remarks that I cannot even see straight right now.
I felt the need to defend myself. Normally I do not like to throw out there what I do to help others because it is no one's business but MY OWN, but I felt it was important for EVERYONE to see that they might have IGNORANT beliefs about conservative Christians.

excuse me, but since when does collectively insulting an entire religion fall under the right of free speech? 
is she free to do that? yes. but then don't complain when conservatives are viewed collectively as intolerant.
