2012 Buick Enclave vs Honda Pilot
I'm 99% sure we're going with the Honda Pilot but I LOVE how the enclave looks. However, I've read about so many problems that happen after the car reaches 40k miles. We're buying used certified under 30k miles.
Any feedback and experience would be greatly appreciated!

No experience with a Pilot but DH and I have owned three CRVs. We've always bought pre-owned Hondas and have been very happy with them. Good luck!

Re: 2012 Buick Enclave vs Honda Pilot
I traded my Pilot for an Enclave and couldn't be happier with my decision. I lost a seat by getting captain seating, but I absolutely love my truck. I've had 5 cars in my life and this is the first one I genuinely love. I have less then 20,000 miles, so I can't speak to that, but the enclave us way more luxurious then the pilot.

Buying used, I would only get a Honda or Toyota.

Re: 2012 Buick Enclave vs Honda Pilot
I have an Enclave and have to say I am not impressed. I think it is a 2012 too (but maybe 11 - I am bad at these things). Not sure how many miles but doubt too many - mostly an around the town family type car - we have a larger car for driving trips. I am not a car person by any means but compared to other cars we have owned in our family I feel like this one has lots of little issues. I like the look and seating but that's about it.

Re: 2012 Buick Enclave vs Honda Pilot
I believe for the lambda triplets (enclave, traverse, acadia) they had a lot of issues initially but since 2012 or 2013 (i forget which year) they've improved reliability.
We have an Acadia Denali which I love (we've only had it since 2014). The captains chairs in the 2nd row are nice. I think the next gen pilot has these as well.

We bought a used 2011 Pilot a year ago and we've been very happy with it.

What types of little issues?
My husband is totally against buying a certified/used Buick but after all of the research I've done, it's one of the top used midsize SUV's of all years so I don't know if the historical reputation is what makes it unpopular or what.

I just saw an article posted on Newsday.com about Consumer Reports worst cars to purchase used and the Enclave was on it. I thought of this thread when I saw that so I just wanted to share!

I think it has to do with bad reliability on the earlier acadia/enclave models. After the refresh I think the reliability is better.

Lots of weird things..the entire sound system is not intergrated properly. There can be a week where the I have no radio, dvd, etc, sound and suddenly it goes back on. Inside plastic parts fall off easily (vents and such) Mine had a lot of recalls (not sure all DH handled it and still waiting to get more fixed but never made it a priority). these are a few off the top of my head.
