2002 Saturn Vue - remote start?
My mom has this car and wants a remote start for Christmas but swears she went to Saturn once before for one and they didn't make it for that year?? does anyone know if she's right? I did a quick google search and some things come up but they're aftermarket. Is after-market remote start bad or unsafe? Never bought one before... TIA! :)

i have an after-market as well as alot of my friends and they are great!!!
just shop around for prices!

Most remote starts are after-market. Technically, the dealer-installed ones are after-market, too. Saturn doesn't make their own, they just have an agreement with a distributor. I seriously doubt that any car manufacturer makes their own remote-starts.
Plus, if you go outside of the dealer, you'll get better prices, better choices, and more options with the remote start. My Dakota has a dealer-installed remote start (by an aftermarket company), and all it does is start the truck. My PT Cruiser has a remote start installed by an audio installer. It has a two-way remote, so I get feedback from the car, it has a longer range, LCD screen, and I can open and close the windows with the remote.
