20 weeksono
Has anyone been told at their 20 week sono that everything looks good but you have to come back because they couldn't see the heart well enough?
They also couldn't tell us the sex since the baby wasn't cooperating. Compared to the sono at 12 weeks the baby was not moving as much -their heartbeat was strong but I'm a little worried.
Thoughts??

I haven't had my 20 week yet, but have heard that happen to a few friends. They got some of the measurements done, but had to go back to do all of them.

With my dd the lady warned me that I may have to come back if the baby doesn't cooperate. I didn't have to but I wouldn't worry. The 20 week sono is very detailed and they measure everything.

Mine is at 22 weeks. I know the baby needs to be in a certain position to measure. Your bean may have just been super active today.

I just had my 20 week sono and I need to go back in a week b/c the sono tech couldn't get a good view of the spine.

I just went through that this pregnancy. They told me to get another sono because they couldn't see the heart and brain well enough. Second sono went well!

yup. happened to me. i went at 19.6 days and everything that the sono tech was able to see, looked and measured perfect and she was able to tell me the gender. but due to the baby's position, she couldn't see one of the valves (i think it was?) on the heart and needed me to come back in 2 weeks. i asked her if there was something wrong etc and she assured me that it was very normal, that sometimes with the position they just can't see everything that they need to all at once. i went back at 21.6 weeks and she saw what she needed to.
