My DD is 2 weeks today. She is spending some longer periods awake and alert- what kind of activities do/did you do? I feel like I'm not doing enough but don't want to overstimulate her either!

Re: 2 week old

I asked the same question of friends of mine at about 2 weeks old! I use the activity mat, any toys that light up/make noise, the swing with the mobile and music going, walks outside when it's nice out, walks around the house and pointing things out to him, copycat where I mimic his facial expressions and noises, nursery rhymes and singing/dancing, and then sometimes we just sit and cuddle!

Re: 2 week old

At that age they can't really see much and aren't interested in too much anyway. I'd leave DS on his activity mat for tummy time and on his back with the music/lights on. His vision wasn't good enough for the mobile at that age and he couldn't hold toys. He liked his swing and bouncer with the lights on. We also took walks outside. Fresh air is good for them.
