2 Tough Questions
Question 1:
If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who
were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had
syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Here are the facts about the three candidates. Who would you vote for?
Candidate A
Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist
He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.
Candidate B
He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in
college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.
Candidate C
He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an
occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.
Which of these candidates would be our choice?

I think the larger lesson of the email (the second part at least) is never to make a big decision when faced with just a piece of information. Investigate and then decide. All three of those people had other characterists which would affect how you would vote. I think a lot of people today are willing to make decisions based on what they hear, instead of investigating for themselves. (especially in politics and religion)
As for the abortion I would never suggest another person get an abortion, it's not my place. My SIL and BIL have a child with Downs, they are trying to decide if they should have another child, knowing that the chance of having a second downs child is increased by 50% - I don't know if I would be willing to face those odds but they are thinking about trying. I think that shows their strength.
