Where can I find cheap area rugs like an 8x10 size

Do you normally put an area rug under a dining room table? I never had a dining room before so not sure, I think you do.

TIA

Oh and if you want, can you post pics of your rooms that have area rugs in them. I would love to see how you have it set up (under the furniture, in front of it, etc)

TIA againChat Icon

Re: 2 questions

I think it depends what look you are going for and how big the DR is also. I plan on putting one in mine.

I would check overstock and lowes has really nice ones too!

Pic In Album.

Lowe's, Home Depot, Home Decorators, Macy's, Crate & Barrel all have area rugs that aren't too expensive.

We have one in our dining room. I just took a quick picture for you. I am pretty sure we got it at Lowes.

Re: 2 questions

All the places that everyone else has already said are great places to shop. I'll add JCPenny.com to the list. They have good sales.

And you question about whether the rug should be under or in front.....I have always read or seen (HGTV) that you should put the rug under the piece of furniture. It's to ground the room. I like my area rugs under my furniture. For the LR, you just need to put the front legs on the rug and that grounds the room. DR, make sure that you buy a rug that is large enough, so that when you pull out the chairs, that the chairs are still on the rug. So probably an 8x10 would work.

Enjoy shopping! Chat Icon
