2t and 3t don't seem that different. I'm wondering if I should go 3t for summer, but DD is in the 2t weight range now (and 2t fits better now). Trying to guess how much she'll grow...

I have the same issue here. I got her 3t for summer because the clothes do shrink after a few washes.

Cloth brands have very varying sizes.
Target brand shrinks for me a whole size.
Gymboree did not.
Gap did.

I'm not buying clothes for DS, as he's going through a growth spurt, DD fits well into her size.

3T bottoms fall off dd so I buy every thing 3T except for bottoms. I like the length of the 3T

My dd is petite and her sizing is all over the place. Most things shes 3t on top, 2t on bottom and 2t for most dresses.

Im having a hard time buying for her for summer. I went to target bought her some cherokee shirts 3t and they were tremendous on her. I had to return everything.
Carters 3t fits perfect. Enough room to grow without being huge. I hate hate hate putting her in stuff that doesnt fit.

My dd hasnt had any huge growth spurts so im trying to buy based on that. I try to leave a little room but i dont keep anything if its too huge. Ill just wait it out. If its still available and i still want it in 2-3months when its hot then ill buy it.

DS is gonna be 2 yrs old in May, he already fits on 3t depending on the brand

yeah, DS will be 2 in August & he wears either 2T or 3T (most 2T still fit him ok but 3T is not too big at all). He has a broad frame but not chubby, and he's around 80th percentile for height.

I'd get your DD 3T because slightly big is better than too tight, especially when it's hot out... also clothes shrink & kids grow fast so I'd say it's your safest bet.
