1st tri food question

Let me start by saying this is my first pregnancy and I am a bit of a neurotic. I love cheese and so far I haven't had any. I know they say pasturized is fine and to stay away from the soft like feta and gorganzola. But I am even nervous about eating the pasturized. I am being silly or should I hold off for a few more weeks til my 2nd tri?

You are totally fine....its a good source of calcium too. Just be careful of like fresh mozz. in the water and stuff like that because of bacteria. Just read up and keep guidelines but in moderation you are totally fine.

I'm in my first tri and was really nervous too...but I love cheese! I read all the lables. I only buy the packaged stuff and make sure its made with pasteurized milk. You should be ok.

Re: 1st tri food question

Congrats!
I was the same way at first, now I eat cheese all the time. The only reason why they said to steer away from feta and bleu cheese was because they traditionally were not pasteurized. If you buy it yourself and read the label that it is pasteurized, its fine. Totally fine. Most restaurants, except for really high end fancy restaurants only serve pasteurized cheese too. If you ask they will tell you whether or not its pasteurized.

Enjoy!
