1st day of school medication question

We live in Queens. DS keeps benadryl and epi-pen in the nurses office. I totally forgot to get the 2009-2010 school year form filled out by his ped. Tomorrow is the first day of school. Do you think they will use last years form for the first couple of days?

I do not think that they would let it drag very long but they would probably want to have it on hand and take your word for it rather than have something happen.

Can your Dr's office fax them a new one? At least till you can get to the office.

As long as the expiration date on the prescriptions are still valid, I'm sure you're ok. Explain it to the nurse when you drop him off or call asap. Then have your ped fax it over.Chat Icon

Good luck tomorrow!

Thanks. I am hoping you all are right. The rx is still valid, meds aren't expired. They have my form from last year.

His medicines are PRN only, and if he needs it its life threatening, so I am hoping they will weigh the risk of not having the form against not having the meds.

I'll drop the form off at the pediatrician tomorrow.

Ahh, just when you think you took care of everythingChat Icon Chat Icon
