1st day househunting (Hudson Valley)
And we already made an offer!
Our RE agent is the husband of my co-worker/friend from school. He was incredible- honest, open, funny!
We saw three houses:
1) Marlboro- spectacular Hudson River/mountain views. Up on a hill- 3+ br, 1 bath, large backyard.
Taxes- 4,000
Made an offer- will see!
2) Foreclosure in T/o/Newburgh- what a mess. 3 br, 2 1/2 bath, 2 car garage, rickety deck, large backyard. ALL wallpapers and wall to wall carpeting in the ugliest colors you can imagine! House was in ruins and needed lots of work- 269,000 PASS
3) Cape style house in New Windsor. Small- 3 br, 2 bath, new kitchen and DR, no backyard space or deck, horrible old 1 car garage, very dark and floor plan awkward. Definite pass - 269,000

I love that area! I went to Marist so I know it pretty well! Must be gorgeous up there right now for fall.

They've accepted our verbal counter offer.... need to fill out paperwork tomorrow.
Its happening fast- I keep expecting something to go horribly wrong!
