I have not had DS' 1st Bday yet, but here are answers based on what we're planning, also what my SIL did for niece's 1st bday 2 wks ago!

1) What time did your party start/end?
We're probably going to do something like 2-5pm. We're planning for doing it on a Sunday. My niece's party was 2-6 on a Sunday-I felt that was too long- we left early as DS was super cranky!

2) What type of entertainment did you provide? We're planning a backyard BBQ, so maybe a radio or something. My SIL used her ipod w/ a docking station-that was nice.

3) What were your favors?
Not sure if we're going to do favors-I have not decided yet. I know if I tell DH he will FREAK! My SIL did cute small picture frames w/ a pic of her DD inside- they were pics from JCPenney

4) Did you serve alcohol? We probably will, as we're planning a BBQ. My SIL had niece's party at a K of C, they had wine, Coors Light and Coronas.

2) What type of entertainment did you provide? we had freckles speckles come in (kinda like a clown but not in the full red nose wig clown outfit) my friend dj'd lil background music

3) What were your favors? we made cookies with each first letter of the kids name an d put them in little bagies tied with a picture of them and there name /date

4) Did you serve alcohol? NOPE!!! its a kids freakin party.. if you have to drink dont come!

2) What type of entertainment did you provide? He hired a face painter/balloon sculptor plus we had our own games/music for the kids

Goodie bags for the kids (jungle theme, filled w/ toys, candy, a frame, safari hats, animal clip-on tails)

Yes, open bar for those who wanted

2) What type of entertainment did you provide?
None. Do balloons, toys and other kids count as entertainment? There were 8 kids there, all 3 years and under and three of them couldn't even crawl yet. Entertainment wasn't necessary.

3) What were your favors?
The kids got animal crackers and fruit leathers.

4) Did you serve alcohol?
We got a couple cases of beer last minute and it all went!

will be ordering centerpieces from veronicas treats which will be cookies on a stick..so that will be the favor

Yes, I kinda have to since its at a brewery (how bad of a mom am I -LOL)
I'm running a tab for beer and wine only.

It started at 3pm and ended by 7pm- it was just a dinner for family and friends.

None- opening presents was the biggest entertainment

yup- there was beer and wine for the adults

None. It was mostly adults and just a few kids, all under 1. There were a bunch of toys around.

3) What were your favors? None. Like I said, mostly adults.

No.

(I will base these answers on my younger son. I truly can't remember these details for my older son's 1st bday)

Started at 2. Most people left by 7/ 8:00.


2) What type of entertainment did you provide?

First bday- none. I have a swingset, sandbox, bubbles. Had a pinata, some games.

Second bday- we had Lollipop Ponies come and did pony rides and a petting zoo. Also had an inflatable jumpy house.

3) What were your favors?



Of course.

1st bday- I personalized tote bags (we had a luau theme) and filled them with beach items- sunglasses, beach balls, bubbles, stickers, tattoos, chocolate palm tree lollipop, water squirter fish.

4) Alcohol- to go with the luau theme: we had Pina Coladas, Strawberry Daquiris, Mojitos, and some Hawaiian mixed drink. Plus I had beer, wine, and of course soda, water, coffee, tea, etc.

I am in the middle of planning the party now so here are some of my answers:

Start time - 1:00. No end time. People can stay as long/as short as they please.

Entertainment - We are having 50 kids. I am getting two clowns from Twinkletown. Sno cone machine. Cotton Candy machine. Blow up castle.

Favors - Containers by Joenick - Backyardigans themed.

Alcohol - most definately. With 50 kids running around the adults will need the alcohol! I know I will!

we had a backyard party that started at 2pm.

We didn't have "official" entertainment, but we had balloons and bubbles (which doubled as favors).

We did serve alcohol - mainly beer & sangria.

The party started at 3PM in our backyard.

No entertainment, but we did have my brother bring his jumpy castle and put it on the front lawn for the kids to play in.

No favors really, but i did put together goody bags of candy/toys for the kids 3 and older to play with at the party.

We served beer, wine, sangria and had liquor out for people.

We had no theme either.

His 1st b-day is going to be on a Sunday from 2-5 pm at a hall

We are getting a DJ with give-aways and will play games with the kids. I am still debating getting a character to come.

3) What were your favors?

I think they are going to be the centerpieces for the kids (which I am making) and not sure about the adults yet. I'm not sure their necessary for the adults.

4) Did you serve alcohol?

Beer, wine and soda which I think is more than sufficient for a 1st b-day on a Sunday afternoon.

1. Not sure of time yet, but it will be on Saturday, since it is DS' actual birthday. Probably 2-whenever.

2. Not having entertainment. We only have two other kids in my family and they are 7 & 11 and then there will be a bunch of babies too.

3. No favors.

4. Oh yeah, there has to be booze. But mainly beer and wine.

1. The party started at 1PM and people left around 4-5PM.

2. No entertainment. It was a Sunday. I do believe my DH put football on. LOL.

3. Favors..Bins by Joenick..Similar to the one --------> On the "Do Me A Favor" ad over on the right.

4. We had beer and soda.

It was a small family party last weekend. I think we had maybe 14/15 adults and there were 6 kids, the oldest being 8 (he was into the football game..LOL).

Entertainment - none but I am borrowing my friends moon bounce and I will get bubbles and stuff for the kids to play with and a pull string pinata

Favors - Val is making me some cute favor boxes that I will fill up with a few toys/candy

yes! Joenick did beautiful favors for us that I stuffed with candy.
