1st Birthday party (with poll)
DD's birthday is New Year's Eve. This year will be her first, so we're going to have a big-ish party (around 50 people at a pizza place). If you were attending, would you prefer it to be the weekend before NYE (Dec 28) or the weekend after (1/3 or 1/4). I really didn't want to wait until after her birthday, but is the weekend in between Christmas and NYE too annoying?

We don't travel over this break, so it would not matter to me, but with kids in school I would prefer that it not be Sunday the 4th, which is the day before they go back. HTH!

If it was the Saturday, the 3rd, then either one. But if it was more likely the Sunday date, then the 28th. Make sense? But I'm the type that doesn't like things on Sundays.

My sons birthday is actually Dec. 28th. I have noticed that if I do his party after new years we always have had higher attendance.

My friend has child born on Christmas. They celebrate on "Half Birthday" over summer & then on actual day just do cake with immediate family..........Just a thought

I would actually do it a few weeks after new years. My ds bday is 12/28 and we never do anything til after the holidays.
